FCC Construcción takes part in the UN platform on Corruption and Good Governance

FCC Construcción has taken part in the UN platform on Corruption and Good Governance, an initiative stemming from the eleventh session of the Conference of the States Parties (COSP11), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the UN Global Compact, where a platform was launched for the first time to involve the private sector in the implementation of anti-corruption measures and policies in line with the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC).

FCC Construcción took part in the working group’s first meeting, marking a significant step forward in engaging businesses in the fight against corruption. The Platform brings together 22 leading companies from various sectors and regions, providing a space for businesses to exchange best practices and address common challenges, whilst collaborating with governments to promote corporate integrity worldwide.

Its work is based on the UNCAC, Sustainable Development Goal 16 and Principle 10 of the United Nations Global Compact on combating corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery. The 2026 working group meeting focused on reviewing progress and discussing upcoming activities in line with the Platform’s core objectives: shaping the global corporate integrity agenda, fostering dialogue between the public and private sectors, encouraging innovation in the fight against corruption, and promoting corporate integrity.

A Think Lab on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Business Integrity will be established, to be co-facilitated by UNODC and the United Nations Global Compact.

To date, activities have been launched to help promote innovative business integrity tools, such as the free e-learning course ‘Doing Business with Integrity’ and the recently updated edition of the publication ‘An Anti-Corruption Ethics and Compliance Programme for Business: A Practical Guide’. Participation in global anti-corruption events is encouraged to give the private sector a voice and a meaningful role in advancing the global anti-corruption agenda.
